Exotic, island-inspired looks in your landscape.

You don't have to live in the tropics to enjoy palm trees in your yard! Even northern homeowners can add cold hardy Palm Trees to the landscape. From the Windmill Palm to the Queen Palm and beyond, our trees deliver exotic good looks to your garden.

How to Grow Palm Trees

First, choose the right tree to survive in your climate. If you buy a Palm Tree that's outside your growing zone, ensure it's suited for indoor growth and move it inside when temperatures drop.

Sunlight and watering needs will vary, however. For instance, some Palm Trees require 6 to 8 hours of full afternoon sun per day, while others may prefer partial sunlight.

How to Plant Palm Trees

When you're planting Palm Trees in a container, select a container with drainage holes that's 2 to 3 times the size of your plant's shipped container, leaving room for establishment.

Before your Palm Trees are established, it’s important that you water frequently to help the roots grow. As a rule of thumb, water your young Palm Trees at least 2 to 3 times per week, or more if you live in a drier, hotter climate.

How to Care for Palm Trees

First, only prune your tree when the fronds are discolored or broken. Palms get most of their energy from their fronds, so avoid removing too many. By gently trimming your Palm Trees, you'll have a healthier, longer-lived plant.
