Help make a difference for our pollinators! We're partnering with the Pollinator Partnership to promote pollinator health, help sustain our ecosystems and food production, and protect our natural resources. For every order placed during Share the Blooms Week, from September 14th through the 20th, we'll make a donation to Pollinator.org on your behalf.
Pollinators are responsible for one out of every three bites of food we eat. They keep our ecosystems healthy, and they promote our natural resources by helping trees and plants reproduce.
Pollinators are responsible for:
- Countless fruits, vegetables and nuts
- Half of all the world's oils, fibers and raw materials
- Protection against soil erosion and extreme weather
- Cleaner air
And pollinators aren't just bees - birds, bats, butterflies, moths, beetles, and even small mammals all help the pollination process! These animals visit flowers and plants to drink their nectar or eat their pollen - and they transport grains of pollen as they go, helping plants grow and reproduce.
Between 75% and 95% of all flowering plants require pollinators - that's more than 180,000 different plant species and more than 1200 unique crops.
But pollinator populations are at risk. Pollution, disease, changes in climate and development are all contributing to smaller pollinator populations, which has negative effects for our environment, food supply and more. The good news? You can help!
For every order placed between September 14 and September 20, we'll make a donation on your behalf to Pollinator Partnership, an organization that promotes pollinator health and awareness. Learn more about their mission here.
