Variegated, Vibrant Grass for Effortless Beauty
The Carex Evergold provides deep green foliage with cream-yellow stripes for striking, visual appeal in the landscape. Its vibrant color, texture and low-growing nature are well-suited for sprucing up borders, pathways, garden beds and more.
What's even better is that its ornamental foliage will enchant the garden from spring through fall, producing coffee colored blooms in spring for added interest. Carex Evergold looks especially fantastic when paired with taller growing varieties in the garden for height contrast and maximum impact.
Not only does the Carex Evergold look great in the landscape, but it'll also flourish without a lot of effort on your part, so you'll get attractive, elegant growth with minimal upkeep. It's a versatile, hardy and flexible variety that can be enjoyed year-round!
For reliable, sophisticated grass without the work, choose Carex Evergold. Order yours now for eye-catching, lush, landscape interest!
Note: If you purchase this grass in fall-winter, it may be cut back for the plant’s health. If your grass is cut back, don’t worry - it will grow even happier and healthier next spring!
Planting & Care
1. Planting: Select an area with moist soil and dappled sun or part shade for best results. The Carex Evergold can tolerate full sun if the soil is consistently moist, but may lose some of its vibrant color in full sun.
When you're ready to plant, dig a hole twice as wide and about 2 inches deeper than the root ball. Place your Carex Evergold, backfill the soil and water thoroughly when planting is complete. Mulch the soil to regulate temperature and conserve water.
2. Watering: Water your Carex Evergold when the soil feels dry down to about 3 inches. You may need to water more often in hot and dry conditions, or for container-planted Carex Evergold. Generally, if you plant in a water-prone area or get several inches of rainfall a week, additional watering is unnecessary.
3. Fertilizing: You can fertilize in the spring and again in the fall with a 10-5-5 or 20-10-10 fertilizer. Always follow the label directions.
4. Pruning: Pruning is optional, but you can cut back your Carex Evergold in late winter or early spring, before new growth appears, to remove spent foliage and control size.
