There are plenty of reasons that this tree should be home with you…
• Bears fruit by the second year• Cold-hardy
• Low maintenance
• Nutritional powerhouse
• Beautiful blooms
The Paw Paw Tree will have the neighbors guessing how you found such a gorgeous specimen. Its thick emerald leaves create a canopy that protects the purple flowers that are followed by cluster after cluster of green Paw Paw fruit. This tree has maintained immense popularity over the centuries, even back to the Lewis and Clark expedition when the Paw Paw fruits fed the explorers when rations ran low.
No Other Fruit Compares
Your Paw Paw fruits are ready for picking (typically late summer and early fall) when the green flesh becomes tender to the touch. You can either shake the limbs, allowing ripe fruit to fall, or you can pick by hand. The inside of the fruit turns a golden orange-yellow when ripe, similar to a mango. Be forewarned: the harvest yield can be over 30 pounds on a fully mature tree!
Divine Taste
Many liken the flavor of the luscious Paw Paw to Boston Cream Pie, with notes of mango and banana. The Paw Paw’s taste is so diverse that you’ll have numerous recipe inspirations. Add to salads, pies, or even pop it in a smoothie for the most delicious breakfast ever. Your friends will wonder how you became such a culinary whiz!
The Paw Paw fruits store well, with a refrigerator life up to 3 months. And its full of nutritional benefits ,with twice the Vitamin C power of grapes and apples.
Easy as Paw Paw Pie
Your Paw Paw tree should bear by the second year, as long as you follow some basic maintenance. Choose a slightly acid soil that is well-drained and composted. Apply an all purpose organic fertilizer several times in the growing season. Water regularly, but make sure it doesn’t have wet feet. Pests and disease are a non-factor, especially if the tree is not crowded. And while the Paw Paw may look tropical, it has the hardiness of a tough Northern tree. The Paw Paw can withstand temperatures down to -22F, making it a worry-free fruit bearer.
Don’t fret about pruning. Its natural shape is similar to a Bradford Pear. Tree The Paw Paw is usually free of low branches, but if they appear, you can easily cut these away in early spring.
Are you ready for both tropic looks and culinary adventures? Then get your Paw Paw Tree from the nursery today and enjoy season after season of gorgeous appeal and lush creamy fruits!

I was surprised at how long I waited, but it really was worth it! I got a free blueberry bush (Father’s Day special) with my order, which was a pawpaw tree. BrighterBlooms really came through with my tree I needed to help pollinate/encourage my other ones (in the pic, the one to the left with all the leaves is the one BB sent.) All in all, a great shopping experience, customer service was also helpful.
