Low-Maintenance, Prolific Raspberry Bush
Fruits can be some of the most notoriously hard plants to grow, but not with the Willamette Red Raspberry Bush. This deciduous bush produces large, reliable yields of better-than-the-grocery-store raspberries without any hassle or unreasonable maintenance.
The most popular raspberry to be planted around the world, the Willamette Red Raspberry has a reputation for producing prolific numbers of fruits. Preceded by delicate, white flowers, bright red, juicy raspberries cover the plant and are ready to be harvested during June and July. With a mildly tart flavor and firm texture, these raspberries are a great addition to your favorite fruit recipes or snacking right off the bush.
Unlike other fruit bushes that may require hand pollinating or continuous pruning, the Willamette Red Raspberry Bush is self-pollinating and extremely low maintenance. Plus, you only need to prune once a year and simply keep the soil most for the bush to thrive.
With the Willamette Red Raspberry Bush, you don’t have to worry about the difficulty of having your own berry bush. Grow easy and rewarding raspberries today!
Planting & Care
1. Planting: Choose a location that offers full sun (6 to 8 hours of sunlight) and well-drained soil. Dig a hole that provides enough room for the root ball, place your bush, and backfill the soil.
To plant in a container, select a pot with drainage holes that is twice as large as your shipped container. Use organic soil, place your bush, and water to settle the roots.
2. Watering: Water your raspberry weekly. If you’re not sure when to water, simply check the top 2 inches of soil for dryness. Water when the soil is dry at this depth.
3. Fertilizing: You can use compost with a small amount of balanced organic fertilizer, applying late in the winter.
4. Pruning: Prune raspberries in the fall, leaving about 6 of the thickest, strongest, green canes. Make sure you cut off any sideways-growing canes.
