Brilliant Tangerine Blooms Pop in Spring
This fast-growing honeysuckle is as colorful as it is aromatic, making it a springtime favorite you can enjoy for months to come. From spring until the first frost, the Cape Honeysuckle produces vibrant clusters of yellow, apricot, red, or orange trumpet-shaped flowers that pop against its deep green, fern-like foliage.
This beautiful evergreen shrub with sprawling, vine-like stems grows best in warm, tropical climates and can reach anywhere from 13 to 25 inches tall. Plus, it's low-maintenance in many ways, from its easy-to-grow nature and self-cleaning ability to its pest and disease resistance.
Plant the Cape Honeysuckle as a centerpiece in your garden containers or group them together in mass plantings. This quick-growing variety can even be planted to climb a trellis to add even more texture and color to your landscape. And the nectar of the flowers attracts hummingbirds and butterflies for enjoyable springtime wildlife viewing.
Populate your garden with the eye-catching and effortless, apricot-orange blooms of the Cape Honeysuckle. Add it to your landscape today!
Planting & Care
1. Planting: Plant your Honeysuckle in a spot that receives full sun but is safe from cold, dry winds. Plant in a hole that is twice as wide but only as deep as the root ball. Do not over-cover the top of the root. Water to settle.
You can also plant your Honeysuckle as the centerpiece or accent in a container arrangement, or train it around an arbor or fence using garden ties or twine.
2. Watering: This vine can tolerate wet or dry conditions. Be sure to water the vine weekly in its young life to ensure proper growth. After a couple of years, you only need to water the tree during very dry spells. Avoid overwatering if you live in a humid climate.
3. Pruning: Pruning is not necessary - however, you can trim after flowering to maintain shape.
