Cold-Hardy Shrub with Year-Round Gorgeous Greens
If you’re looking for your own dwarf version of the classic Skip Laurel, then you’ll love the Greenfinity Cherry Laurel! A winter-hardy evergreen with a stunning rounded, compact form, this shrub is perfect as a hedge plant or small privacy screen.
Since it’s so compact in size and shape, this bushy shrub can be placed just about anywhere. It’s wildlife-friendly, too, so you can bird watch right from your window!
Even better? This evergreen changes from one green to the next! With shiny, dark-green foliage that emerges a light lime green, you’ll love all the color variation it offers.
Originally from Hungary, this plant has been specifically designed to survive extreme cold. Plus, it’s incredibly easy to care for, so harsh winters are no problem! The Greenfinity Cherry Laurel is also tolerant of poor soils, urban pollution, and road salt. Plant it an urban setting or rural settings, and anywhere in between.
Get the Greenfinity Cherry Laurel today for your own perfect, petite shrub!
Note: If your plant arrives with holes or damaged leaves, don’t be alarmed! Laurels do not like being in containers, so it is very common for this cosmetic damage to occur. Once plant your Laurel in the ground, new growth will emerge happy, healthy and hole-free. If you have any concerns, don’t hesitate to contact us!
Planting & Care
1. Planting: First, select a location with well-drained soil and full sun to partial shade – any area with about 4 to 6 hours of sunlight should suffice. When you’re ready to plant, dig a hole that’s about three times the width of your plant’s root ball, and place your plant.
2. Watering: Once established, your Skip Laurel is relatively drought-tolerant, but it’s important to have a regular watering schedule for the first few growing seasons. Water about once weekly or check the surrounding soil about 2 or 3 inches down.
3. Pruning: You have numerous options for pruning Skip Laurel. First of all, you never have to prune it if you prefer the natural shape of the plants in your landscape. Or you can shape a hedge of these plants in early spring into any shape or size you want. It's a best practice not to prune plants during the heat of summer or during a season of drought because pruning can stress them at these times. The ideal time to prune Skip Laurel is in late spring to early summer. This way, the new growth will fill in rapidly.
