Small Maple Boasts Rich Purple Color

The Red Select Japanese Maple Tree displays an attractive range of purple hues throughout the year! From its warm purple spring foliage to its rich crimson, yellow and orange fall colors, this cultivar will surely capture your attention.

The perfect shape and convenient size make the Red Select ideal for most landscapes. The best part? Because of its easy care and resistance to urban pollution, this tree is an excellent choice whether it's planted in a city, suburban or country setting.

This Maple offers incredible bursts of color, texture and palm-shaped foliage that can't be missed. With a small, weeping habit, yet vigorous and easy growing nature, it's ideal as a low, wide canopy feature or to simply give your landscape a pop of gorgeous color!

Planting & Care

1. Planting: Dig the hole slightly larger than the root system of the plant - 2 to 3 times the width and just as deep as the root ball. Then, place the tree and tamp down the soil as you proceed to cut back on any air pockets from forming.

2. Watering: Water your Japanese Maple Tree as needed. During the hot summer months, we recommend watering your tree in the early morning or evening.

3. Fertilizing: Japanese Maples do not require large amounts of nutrients. If needed, use a balanced fertilizer for shrubs and trees once a year in early spring, and if possible, before the leaves appear.

4. Pruning: Your tree will need 2 to 3 years to become firmly established in your lawn or garden before you prune.
