America's Favorite Plum
One of the most popular trees for commercial plum growers is also available for home orchardists. The Santa Rosa Plum tree's dark, reddish-purple fruits are just as easy to grow in your yard as they are on a farm. Aside from bearing delectable fruit, the tree is pretty enough to be a focal point in your landscape. The fruit from this tree is the classic ideal for a plum. It's thin skinned, has a deep color and has sweet yellow flesh. It's an early plum to ripen with harvest time occurring by August in most zones. You'll only need one Santa Rosa Plum tree since they are self-pollinating. However, cross-pollination encourages better blooming and fruiting so more is always better.
You'll want this tree in your yard for its beauty as well as its fruits. The bloom in late April to May is astounding. Masses of flowers coat the branches in shades of pink and white. With mature trees rising to around 25 feet, it's an impressive spring display.
Caring for the Santa Rosa Plum tree doesn't take much effort. It's vigorous, fast growing and heat tolerant, which are just a few of the many reasons it's so beloved by commercial growers. Plant it in full sun for the best harvest and prune it in the winter to encourage branching and fruiting.
The Santa Rosa is considered to be the standard for tasty plums. Plant one in your yard and see if you agree.

A Plum Plum
Tree arrived in great shape. Appears to be thriving since planting. Looking forward to its fruit bearing years.
Bumpy start but doing good now
This was one of three trees we ordered. It arrived a little unhappy, having shared it's temporary box accommodation with another tree. The other was in far worse shape. Would be better not to double down on packaging them in my opinion. However, it has planted well in zone 6b and has made a good recovery and seems to be doing really well now. Excited to taste it's delicious fruit one of these years!
A+ support
Had an issue with the first Santa Rosa I was sent, called, sent a couple of pics, got another one in great shape before the end of the week.
