Evergreen Foliage and Abundant Blue Blooms

Enjoy abundant cerulean blue blooms with this dense, evergreen plant. The Skylark California Lilac is the ideal blooming shrub for any summer landscape.

And did you know? The California lilac isn't a true lilac - it's actually part of the buckthorn family! But it shares its namesake plant's bright lilac blooms and sweet fragrance.

Blossoming in late spring and early summer, the Skylark California Lilac produce lovely clusters of blue-purple flowers that give off the signature lilac fragrance. This sweet scent attracts butterflies, hummingbirds, and even song birds. Plus, the vibrant evergreen foliage provides protection and shelter for them in winter.

The Skylark California Lilac can be shaped into hedges, privacy screens or borders. You can also plant it along slopes or banks to provide erosion control. Although this plant could fit into any landscape, it would be especially beautiful in cottage, Mediterranean, or coastal styles

Perhaps best of all, the Skylark California is low maintenance and resistant to larger nuisances like deer and rabbits. Its minimal care requirements allow gardeners to enjoy the plant rather than spend countless hours pruning or watering.

Planting & Care

1. Planting: Plant your Skylark California Lilac in a location with full to partial sun and well-draining soil. Although this plant is adaptable to clay soil, it will do best if you mix the clay with loose potting soil. Dig a hole that twice as wide and just as deep as the container the plant was shipped in. Place the plant in the hole and backfill the dirt. Water immediately.

2. Watering: Water frequently until the plant is well established. Then, you may water as needed.
