Desert-Friendly Perennial Shrub
Looking for a drought tolerant, low maintenance showstopper to add to your space? The Desert Spoon is all of that and more!
Desert Spoons are incredible additions to all landscape styles, but especially desert, Southwest, or even eclectic aesthetics. You can plant these in containers, directly in the ground, or even in rock gardens to complete a unique look for your garden.
A relative of the agave plant, the Desert Spoon plant is a semi-succulent that thrives is dry, arid environments. Not only that, but this desert-loving plant is so hardy, it can even tolerate some shade and humidity.
Also known as the Spoon Yucca Plant, this plant produces spiky, dense foliage in a blue to grayish-green color. Over time, you'll see a multitude of long and slender leaves curve inward from the base, creating the spoon-like appearance that gave the shrub its name.
This green Desert Spoon plant will produce flowers once it reaches maturity. The blooms will either appear in purple-pink or creamy yellow colors. You can expect more pollinators to visit your garden during its blooming period.

Planting & Care
1. Planting: Plant your Desert Spoon in a location that receives full sun at least 6 hours per day. Although this plant is very tolerant to soil conditions, we recommend planting it in well draining soil. At the planting location, dig a hole that is 2-3 times the width and the same depth as the root ball. Place the plant in the hole and backfill the dirt. Water immediately to help the dirt settle.
2. Watering: Water regularly until your Desert Spoon is established (at least until the first winter season). Once established, you may reduce waterings to only once every 2-4 weeks.
