Clumping Ornamental Grass with Yellow Plumes
The Golden Dew Tufted Hair Grass is no ordinary ornamental grass! A semi-evergreen, blooming grass with fine, textured leaves, this versatile variety serves as the perfect addition to any landscape, bringing late-season interest to garden beds, borders, mass plantings and more.
The foliage of the Golden Dew Tufted Hair Grass is dark green in color and narrow in shape. At the top of this linear, arching foliage is the profuse display of wispy, golden flowers and seed heads, appearing in late summer and holding through winter. The plumes dance in the breeze and add dimension and texture that even attracts songbirds to your space.
If you’re wanting a low-maintenance grass that adds long-lasting visual interest to your space, the Golden Dew Tufted Hair Grass is a superb choice. Plus, it's resistant to deer and other herbivores, so you don’t have to worry about keeping animals away.
The low, mounding growth habit of this ornamental grass makes it ideal for erosion control and foreground placement. Plant it alongside tall, summer-blooming perennials to create differing heights, or use it to camouflage the bare lower stems of other plants.
To brighten and texturize your landscape, choose the easy-growing Golden Dew Tufted Hair Grass. Order yours today!
Note: If you purchase this grass in fall-winter, it may be cut back for the plant’s health. If your grass is cut back, don’t worry - it will grow even happier and healthier next spring!
Planting & Care
1. Planting: Plant in an area with full to partial sun (4-8 hours of sunlight per day). Select a location with well-drained soil and dig a hole that's large enough to accommodate your grass's root ball.
After you've planted, mulch the surrounding area and water to settle the roots.
2. Watering: Water weekly, or more often in extreme heat or drought. If you plant your grass in containers, you'll also want to water more frequently. Check the soil and water when soil is dry to the touch two inches down.
3. Pruning: Prune your grass all the way back in late winter or early spring to allow room and energy for new growth.
