Planting & Care

1. Planting: Because your poinsettia comes pre-planted, its ready to enjoy! Place it in an indoor area with a south, east, or west-facing window where it can receive bright daylight and indoor temperatures between 65-70°F. (Poinsettias will suffer damage if they are exposed to temperatures below 50 °F.) Avoid placing it somewhere the temperature fluctuates, such as near fireplaces, fans, space heaters, etc.

2. Watering: Keep the soil moist and always in a well-draining pot. Water the plant when the soil surface feels dry to a light touch, or when the pot feels lightweight when lifted. Never allow poinsettias to get so dry that they wilt or alternatively, to develop rot in excess water. The best method is to wet the plant in a sink and water thoroughly, allowing the plant to drain completely.

3. Fertilizing: Start fertilizing your poinsettia when you see new growth, such as new green leaves, stems, or bracts. Fertilize with an all-purpose household plant fertilizer, and mix it with water at half the recommended strength. Follow label instructions closely.
