Giant Blossoms That Last!
Your Debutante Camellia will burst with vibrant pink blooms in late fall.. when all other plants are dormant and dull.
The generous blooms of the Debutante Camellia are reminiscent of fluffy, pink ballerina tutus. These deliciously-fragrant blossoms take center stage, dancing their way across the luminous green foliage.
The multi-layered blooms are densely packed with petals and have a strong resemblance to a rose. The cotton candy pink shade of Debutante is truly breathtaking and adds a wonderful pop to jazz up a boring corner.
These robust evergreens explode with a multitude of color year-round, which is why camellias are so popular in gardens.
From the vibrant green foliage to the stunning pinks of the blooms, the Debutante Camellia is a breathtaking sight for any gardener.
You can also use this vibrant evergreen to block unsightly areas such as wells, roads or other homes.
Easy to grow, the Debutante Camellia is cherished by expert and amateur gardeners alike.
It is drought-tolerant, low-maintenance, ignored by deer and easy to care for-making it an unbeatable choice for southern gardeners.
Planting & Care
1. Planting: Well-drained soil and full to partial shade (this means very little direct sunlight): That’s all your Debutante needs to thrive. Aside from that, try to plant the Camellia in a location that offers some protection during the extra cold winds of winter. We also recommend planting during the fall or winter seasons.
Once you’ve selected your location, dig a planting hole that is twice the diameter of the root ball and just as deep. Then, fill the hole, tamp the soil down around the roots to remove air pockets, and water the plant thoroughly to help settle the soil. Finally, apply a 2 to 3-inch layer of mulch around the base of the plant to keep the area moist and deter weed growth.
2. Watering: Keep the soil moist for the first year of growth – generally, this means watering about once or twice weekly. Take care not to oversaturate the soil, but if you’re not sure when to water, simply check the surrounding soil about 2 to 3 inches down. If the soil is dry here, it’s time to water.
3. Fertilizing: Fertilize your tree in the spring after the flowers have dropped – ideally using a soluble fertilizer once or twice a month in spring and mid-summer.
4. Pruning: Though the Debutante rarely requires pruning, you may remove any broken or damaged branches after summer flowering. Also, thinning out the interior branches and shortening the lower limbs will encourage upright growth.

Camellia
The plant arrived full and gorgeous. I can’t wait to see it flower.
Beautiful plant.
Beautiful plant! Came quickly, packaged well so it only lost a little bit of soil, and looks great on my porch while I wait to plant it next spring.
Beautiful Gift
We sent the Camelia as a memorial gift to our daughter’s in-laws who lost their mother. It was a perfect memory plant for their garden with the pink blooms.. her favorite color.
