Evergreen Foliage and Abundant Blue Blooms
This ultimate lilac is one of the hardiest, lowest maintenance, and most fragrant lilacs available. The Creeping Mountain Lilac is a cross between two other lilac varieties, offering you a unique perennial shrub that will thrive under almost any condition.
The California lilac isn't a true lilac - it's actually part of the buckthorn family! But like the traditional lilac, this California native plant produces long clusters of blooms during the early spring months, from March to May. These blue flower cones produce a sweet fragrance that pleases pollinators and plant lovers alike. Plus, this lilac's dark green leaves will remain on the plant all year long.
Not only does this evergreen foliage provide all-season interest, it’s also resistant to pests, wind, heat, and drought. And with no pruning or frequent watering required, this plant is extremely low maintenance.
Ideal for groundcover, the Creeping Mountain Lilac works well in butterfly, perennial, rock, woodland, or cottage gardens. You may also shape it into a hedge for tight spaces or train it to cascade over the sides of a container.
The trailing, low maintenance waves of blue blooms can be yours with the Creeping Mountain Lilac. Order yours today!
Planting & Care
1. Planting: Plant your Creeping Mountain Lilac in a location that receives full sun. Dig a hole that is 2-3 times wider and the same depth as the container the plant was shipped in. Remove the plant from the shipping container, loosen the roots gently with your fingers, and then place it in the hole. Gently backfill the dirt and water immediately.
2. Watering: Continue to water the plant regularly until it is well established. Although your Creeping Mountain Lilac can survive long periods of drought, it is best if you water the plant periodically.
